This day long retreat by The Young Vincentian Alliance, in collaboration with the Young Adults of St. John the Evangelist, will share about how this devotional came to be, how we can apply it in our daily lives to guide us and give us courage through the rough days and in discernment for our vocations and service in God's life. This event is open to all young adults ages 18-39.
By Cindy Wooden Catholic News Service 8.10.2015 9:39 AM ET VATICAN CITY (CNS) Like their Orthodox brothers and sisters, Catholics formally will mark Sept. 1 as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, Pope Francis has decided. The day of prayer, the pope said, will give individuals and communities an opportunity to implore God's help in protecting creation and an opportunity to ask God's forgiveness "for sins committed against the world in which we live."
Mrs. Tosha Tillotson, principal of St. John the Evangelist School, recently announced that there are a few remaining openings in grades K through 5. Interested parents of students in these grades are urged to contact the office soon.
Each family in the parish is invited to bring the vocation cross home for a week. You can sign up for a week of your choosing in the narthex. (An usher will direct you to the sign-up sheet.)
